Community applications for the 2012-2013 Campus-Community LINK program are requested by Monday April 9th.
LINK is a community service learning program that connects community development projects with college and university faculty and classes. Those classes then provide valuable technical assistance on the project at no cost to the community.
Campus Community LINK is a collaboration between Campus Compact and the Hub, with funding from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation. This second round of LINK will support up to 40 projects over the course of the fall 2012 and spring 2013 semesters. LINK provides up to $5,000 to help cover expenses incurred by the college or university class while providing the technical assistance.
Examples of the types of assistance provided by LINK include:
* Creating a diverse and very successful buy local campaign
* A design for the re-use of an historic building
* Designing and creating museum exhibitions
* Conducting community surveys and assessments
* Conducting business case studies and feasibility studies
* Creating local tourism public relations campaigns
* Monitoring river water quality
* Conducting a farmers market awareness campaign
