Energy Equipment and Book Lending Library

Equipment Lending

The Mountain Association has various hand-held and data-logging tools available for short-term borrowing by individuals or enterprises. Anyone wanting to borrow equipment first needs to become a library member and then agree to return the equipment in the time allotted below. A late fee of $1.00 per day will be assessed if equipment is not returned on time.

All of the equipment is available for free. Any shipping costs associated with getting equipment to and from the Mountain Association must be paid for by the borrower of the equipment.

Equipment can be borrowed and returned through our offices in Berea, Hazard, or Paintsville.

Available Equipment:

  • Digital Radon Detector (Corentium Home)
  • Thermal Imaging Camera
  • TED – The Energy Detective (the-TED) – Available only for use by licensed electricians or journeymen for safety reasons.
  • Light Meter (extech-foot-candle-light-meter)
  • kWh Xducer–  Available only for use by licensed electricians or journeymen for safety reasons.
  • Sending cables for Xducer – Available only for use by licensed electricians or journeymen for safety reasons.
  • Watts Up? Pro Monitor – Stores and logs data on PC but not internet enabled.
  • Watts Up? Net Monitor – Data available via internet
  • Vending Miser  – Used alone, the vending miser reduces energy use by vending machines. Used with a Watt’s Up Monitor, actual energy and dollars saved can be measured.
  • Water flow meter 
  • Sending cables for flow meter 
  • Solar Pathfinder 
  • Infrared Thermometer 
  • 600A current transformer (600-Amp) – Available only for use by licensed electricians or journeymen for safety reasons.
  • 100A current transformer (100-Amp) – Available only for use by licensed electricians or journeymen for safety reasons.
  • HOBO Data Logger – Light, Humidity & Temperature
  • HOBO Data Logger – on/off light sensor
  • HOBO Data Logger – U12 Temp/RH External (HOBO-U12-temp-&-RH)
  • TMCx-HE Temperature Sensors – available for use with the HOBO U12 (TMCx-HE-Temperature-Sensor)
  • Boroscope 
  • Combustion Analyzer 

Energy Saving Book Library

Individuals wanting to borrow a book first need to become a library member and then agree to return the book in the time allotted below.
