The Appalachian Regional Commission is bringing together experts and practitioners from across the region to discuss opportunities and strategies in building food systems in Appalachia. The conference is being held on April 3-4 in beautiful Asheville, NC, a hub of activity in local foods. Conference sessions cover everything from branding, food heritage, tourism, distribution, meat production and processing and financing. You can also choose from a number of field trips to local farms and food facilities. The entire agenda is available here.
