Nationally-recognized business publication Inc. magazine, which bills itself as providing ‘small business resources for the entrepreneur’, has teamed up with Ohio’s Enterprise Appalachia to produce four white papers targeting small businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the region. The white papers are available for download on Enterprise Appalachia’s website and cover topics including: expanding your market reach; accessing supply chains and markets; launching businesses; and accessing venture capital.
The effort is aimed at reaching small businesses in Ohio’s Appalachian counties in particular, though the strategies and advice contained in the white papers certainly could apply to small businesses everywhere.
Also available on the Enterprise Appalachia website are resources for statewide efforts, including tax reform, solar and advanced energy, and agribusiness. These efforts reflect the work of the Columbus-based Ohio Business Development Coalition, as well as state laws and policies that have in recent years helped position Ohio as an emerging-energy leader.
We hope other states throughout Central Appalachia continue to strengthen their support for enterprise development and entrepreneurship throughout the region – there is a lot of talent present in Appalachia worthy of such efforts!
