The Central Appalachian Network is now accepting applications for its 2012 Small Grants Program! The Central Appalachian Network is a collaborative of nonprofits working in the Appalachian regions of Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Our mission is to work with individuals, community leaders, businesses, policy makers, and others to develop new strategies that create wealth and reduce poverty while restoring and conserving the environment of our region.
CAN's current collective focus is developing, strengthening, and connecting sustainable agriculture value chains at the local and regional levels. Through our small grants program, we will address identified gaps in sustainable agriculture value chains in Central Appalachia, build the capacity of our partners to plan and implement sustainable agriculture value chain development, and improve and expand the excellent work already underway in organizations across the region.
